 NEW AKC DUAL CHAMPION!

          "RAISIN"

DC Can Ch Highfeather Raise N 'A Ruckus FDX CD Am MH
(Am/Can Ch Kulana Qismet's Rhuzara CD TDX AM TD CGC X Can Ch. Russell's Roxy Roller)

Raisin is a willing, and energetic girl who does everything I ask of her. Raisin was exceptionally happy to become a broke field trial dog, and she placed in her first AKC broke dog Field Trial Stake at just under two years of age.

Raisin began 2006 by getting the remaining 13 points she needed to finish her AKC Show Championship. She was shown by Heidi Gervais and finished very quickly allowing Raisin to get back to the field where she is so happy. She went to her first field trial of the 2006 season in show weight and coat and had her first win! This little girl has heart! She is AKC and CKC Amateur and Open field trial pointed, has multiple AKC wins and CKC FT placements. The 2006 Field Trial Season has been a super one for Raisin. She has had two Open Firsts for Majors and One Amateur first along with other placements. She is just Three single points away from finishing her AKC Dual Championship. There have only ever been 19 of them.

* She acquired her Canadian Kennel Club Field Dog Excellent in straight attempts and became the

CKC's #2 FDX dog ALL BREEDS for 2003 in the process (only four points off of first place.)
* Raisin completed her CKC CD title in 2005.

  NEW AKC CHAMPION!

"MUSASHI"

Musashi, Moose, Mooshy. Also shown here as a pup. He is the sweetest boy in the world.

He LOVES to point, and showed a natural honour very early. He passed a leg on his JH at six months when entered just for fun! He has multiple field trial puppy and derby placements - he was ranked #2 AKC Irish Setter Field Trial puppy for 2004 to housemate Eadie.

Am Ch Russell's Mythodical Musashi
(BISS Can Am Int'l Ch Cairncross Russells Talisman X  DC Mythodical's Runnymeade Rip)
Bred by Cassie and C Brent Allen - Mythodical Irish Setters, Hilliard Ohio

Musashi has now gone all the way to his AKC championship!  "Mushi" finished in style, winning his second major the hard way -- by competing with nationally ranked dogs at one of the cluster shows associated with large RELIANT ARENA shows in Houston Texas.

He will do advanced work, so we can trial him again when he is ready for the senior stakes. An absolute joy to live with, show, and train. Thanks Cassie and Brent for having the confidence in Murphy to breed him to your beautiful and talented girl Rip, and for letting me have this fabulous boy. The future looks bright!

Update  -- He has been started in AKC Senior Hunter tests, and has done a grand job in limited running.  Musashi is currently residing in TEXAS with co-owner, Dotti Fowler.

Watch for updates on field results!

     Am / Can CHAMPION!

    "EADIE"

Am/Can Ch Russell's Early Edition
(FC AFC Runnymeade Karrycourt Rocky X

Can Ch Russell's Celine Can CD Am JH)

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeadie!

The first of my dogs to come from outcrosses to dual bred pedigrees. Her Dam is Sweet Celine; her sire is the incomparable Rocky owned by the Culvers and Karolynne MacAteer; he is the Sire of two of Mythodical Irish Setter's litters. The temperament on this bitch is simply exquisite to lilve with. She is incredibly sound of body and mind.

She finished her Canadian Championship readily, beating BIS winners from the puppy classes! Shown at AKC shows she placed 3rd in 12-18 at ISC Seattle the day after the 2004 ISCA National, won the Open bitch class at ISC of the Pacific in 2005, and went on to garner an AKC championship as well.

With Professional Field Trainer RJ Marquart of Quicksilver Kennels in Washington State, Eadie trialed in California in the Spring of 2004, and with myself at a couple of trials as well. She ended 2004 as AKC's #1 Irish Setter Field Trial Puppy!  Eadie is now away at Field Camp with RJ in the hopes that we can run her in the adult stakes in the coming year.

Watch for her, she'll be the one in your lap! Because of Eadie, we have done two more breedings to Mythodical dogs - the temperaments and soundness are simply unbelievably excellent.

  "RUSSELL"

Our Norwegian Import from Kennel Saeterelva.

Saeterelva's Russell Am JH
  Hav'gas Arco X NUCH Saeterelva's Trom-so)

I got Russell from Norway simply because the Norwegians STILL hunt their Irish Setters to an extent that no other country in the world does.  They have a system whereby field champions must have a show WIN and show champions must have a field trial WIN at a really advanced level.  This, along with the fact that they still HUNT their dogs on wild birds routinely and to an enormous extent means that the depth of talent in good looking and sound dogs is DEEP amongst a varied gene pool!

Health clearances and breeding of older dogs means that the Norwegian dogs are predominantly healthy and the largely outcross pedigrees bring significant new genes to the table.  Russell has been a huge kick to own. He is deeply devoted, and he is physically tough while still biddable – what a lovely combination.  He has 6 CKC show points, an AKC derby 2 point win, along with two CKC broke stake placements.  He is dark, solid without coarseness, and has exquisite head planes of the old type.  He is intense to live with and hunt, and his intensity is passed along to his kids.  He is mixing well with North American stock, and is available at stud by private treaty.             (pedigree)

"GOTCHA"

NEW CKC CHAMPION!

Russell's Gotcha Gotcha
Am FC/AFC Runnymeade Mythodical Pilot X

DC Highfeather Raise 'N A Ruckus FDX CD MH)

She was "Everywhere, All At Once" even as a ten day old, and I kept having to catch her saying "Gotcha, Gotcha" as I did. Husband Ken overheard me and it turns out that Gotcha Gotcha means "everywhere, all at once" in Japanese slang - thus she was Christened!

Gotcha caught my eye from day one - by the end of the first week I had already told a friend she reminded me of my foundation bitch Becky. A beautifully put together, typey, strong bodied girl with a soft demeanor towards people, and all business when it comes to working. She is confident, outgoing, friendly, and has an AMAZING nose. We are really excited about her future. Her expression is soft, questioning, and beautiful. Her dark eyes melt everyone she meets.  At six months old Gotcha passed her first Field Dog Junior leg, we entered her for fun at the ISCC National FDT.

"MARY"

Russell'NMythodical's Hail Mary

 Saeterelva's Russell Am JH   x

Can Ch Mythodical Russell's Reba

Mary is the first of Russell’s offspring here at Russell Irish Setters and also a CH Murphy X DC Rip granddaughter via Reba.

Mary is sweet, tough, biddable, and FAST – a real tribute to her pedigree.  At just over one year of age she is maturing nicely, and is very well put together and sound.   Her desire to hunt and point birds is a direct result of the fabulous dual purpose dogs in her pedigree and we look forward eagerly to her future.

"Jack"

Russell's Jack of All Trades

Jack is a strapping strong all MALE classic old fashioned Irish setter with a really rollicking loving personality.  He won Best Puppy at large Sporting Dog Club of BC Specialty in June 2008.  He also has an AKC all breed derby placement in his first outing.  He has TONNES and TONNES of desire to point, and a natural retrieve and honour.  This pup is really exciting and his talents reflect his dual champions Dam as well as the long standing dual breeding program at Bright Star.  His littermates all show the same strong desire to point and highly biddable nature.  We love this litter so much that we plan on using his sire again very soon.
